Mistletoe, Not For Christmas But For Cancer.

Mistletoe, Not For Christmas But For Cancer.

When we hear the word, 'Mistletoe', we think of Christmas, kissing, maybe even roasting chestnuts by the fireplace. But how many of us think of cancer

"Mistletoe extract is a semi-parasitic plant with several active ingredients that, in preclinical studies, appear to directly cause the death of tumor cells and stimulate an immune response. It has been used in Europe for several decades as a complementary medicine approach to cancer treatment alone or in combination with chemotherapy and radiation therapy, but it has not been evaluated in clinical trials. ME is not currently FDA approved for cancer treatment in the U.S. but is listed in the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia and is offered in integrative care clinics." (Johns Hopkins Medicine, News and Publications, Newsroom)

Mistletoe grows on many types of trees including apple, oak, pine, and elm. Mistletoe extracts, the extracts taken directly from the plant, as a therapy is one of the most widely studied methods for treating cancer. It is oddly not approved by the FDA although it is a commonly accepted and practicted treatment for cancer in other parts of the world including Europe, even by allopathic medical practitioners. When administered the plant extract is given my injection under the skin, into a vein, or directly into the cancerous tumor itself. Side effects are few and known to be mild.

My job as your unofficial plant guide is first and foremost to plant seeds so that you may begin your own journey of research.

Below you will find some seeds.

Do you have or know someone with cancer?

Start by reading the studies below, see where they lead....

*Special Note*

Randomized double-blind placebo studies are the gold standard for better understanding any scientific topic. On the topic of Mistletoe Therapy those studies are few and far between. As a collective, we might want to ask why?
