Sulfuric Foods As A Cause Of Discomfort?

Sulfuric Foods As A Cause Of Discomfort?

Methylsulfonylmethane.

Also known as sulfur.

I talked about its benefits. About how the body needs it, and may times depletes it way too quickly and abundantly.

This post today is about the opposite of all of the above.

It's about the fact that some people, sometimes, are severely affected by sulfur in foods, and supplements. About how their bodies hold on to sulfur and don't regularly or very easily expose of it.

It's about how some people actually have excess sulfur in their bodies, therefore eating sulfurous foods and taking supplements such as MSM may actually have harmful effects and cause a plethora of unwanted and unnecessary symptoms in the body.

This is the perfect example of why we need to listen to our bodies. How science can go in both directions simultaneously. And especially how every BODY is different.

Broccoli. Cauliflower. Garlic. Onion. And even meat and eggs.

All high in sulfur.

What does the research say about having an abundance of sulfur in the body?

Sadly, there's not much independent research on the matter. Supposedly, and sadly, really, the last peer reviewed study looking into the effects of sulfur sensitivity was in 1939! However, many natural doctors, herbalists, and other health seekers who understand that most plant foods come with natural predator preventing constituents (aka: elements toxic and/or medicinal only in nature to humans and animals in varying amounts) have found that lessening sulfurous foods in the diet can drastically help people with relief of many conditions.

On a case by case basis.

So, I've found the 1939 study.

Read it.

Consider it.

Test it out.

And as always, enjoy the learning process.

And check out my book review section for a book related to the matter.
